Whether it’s our arms or our tummy, most of us are experts at wearing the right outfits to conceal them, but it’s time to stop hiding. A revolutionary new product targeting those exact parts of our bodies is taking the market by storm, and I am delighted to be launching it for our patients here at RE Clinic.

We invest so much money into looking after our faces, shouldn’t we be doing the same for our bodies as well? IBSA Derm certainly think so.
After the success of their Profhilo Face and Neck treatment the skincare experts are back with a product that targets problem areas of the body and it is already proving to have incredible results.
If you haven’t heard of IBSA, their ethos is that everyone is a ‘masterpiece.’ They aspire to enhance your natural beauty whilst keeping your skin looking youthful and nourished. Sounds great, right?
After surveying a panel of patients and experts, the company discovered that most people invest in facial treatments and procedures far earlier in life than they do body treatments. This means, when it comes to our bodies, the treatments we eventually seek are more corrective than preventative. Interestingly, the panel felt there was a split of 80% of time invested in facial care, and just 20% invested in caring for the body. IBSA saw this as an opportunity to even things up and encourage patients and practitioners to focus more on taking better care of the body. The result, is their Profhilo Body Kit.
Ageing gracefully
Profhilo Body is specifically designed to target the problem of skin laxity, which is the loss of tone, elasticity and firmness that we all experience in our skin as we age.
If you’re familiar with Profhilo’s fabulous Face and Neck treatment, their body method works in a very similar, non-invasive way. It combines two injections, which you receive in the clinic 30 days apart, a soothing post-injection patch and then a luxurious cream for you to apply at home. It really couldn’t be easier. The kit also includes a photographic laxity scale, which means we are able to give our clients an idea of the type of results they can expect, even before the first injection.
It’s what’s inside that counts
Each of the three elements brings something special to the process. Firstly, the injections of Hyaluronic Acid (HA). HA really is the holy grail of skincare. Not only does it intervene in the natural ageing process, it remodels your existing skin tissue, stimulating collagen and elastin production, to reduce that sagging appearance that usually comes with age. For long-lasting dermal renewal that looks completely natural, there really is nothing better.
When it comes to HA, IBSA pride themselves on only using HA that they cultivate themselves, from the early bio-fermentation of the raw materials, right through to the finished product in their pre-filled syringe. If you’re one of our regular clients, then you’ll know I’m really passionate about the importance of understanding what is in the products your using, particularly if you’re having them injected into your skin. Using a product such as this means there are no uncertainties about the ingredients, which is brilliant for both patient and practitioner confidence!
Next, is the patch which is applied following the injection and helps to soothe the affected area of the skin. As well as HA, the patch also contains Salvia Haenki, a plant extract with antioxidant properties; Arnica Montana, to soothe and relieve redness and bruising; Escin to prevent excess liquid accumulating at the injection site; and Pineapple extract, which restores the skin’s natural condition. Feedback from users of the patch has been really positive, with reports of less irritation but increased skin hydration, which is really encouraging.
Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, is the moisturising cream that you take home with you and apply regularly. The cream is another secret weapon as it’s going to help to deliver those lasting effects that we all strive for. Used regularly following the procedure, it has been proven to restore skin tone and elasticity while providing deep hydration and ultimately firmer skin.
But don’t just take my word for it, IBSA conducted a patient self-assessment study which found 100% of patients thought their skin was more hydrated and had increased elasticity. The added bonus is that it’s fast-absorbing and has a gorgeous, silky, rich texture, making it a real treat for your body.
Keeping it simple
The simple three-step process, requires no preparation, and is so straightforward you could have it done in your lunch break. And because, at RE Clinic we like to keep things simple too, we’re keeping the price of the body treatment exactly the same as the face and neck treatment, at £350 per area treated. We suggest 2 treatments 30 days apart.
